Assignment format: Your response to this assignment will be in four different formats:
Persuasive narrativeessay
Chart
Graphic organizer
Rubric

Compose a response that includes the following information from the perspective of teaching

the grade level you selected:
Persuasive Narrative Essay: A 150- to 175-word rationale in which you share specific reasons why

reading and writing should or should not be taught together (including evidence from research

to support your rationale), and how this knowledge will directly impact the way you teach. Be

sure to cite resources used to support your point of view.
Chart: 1–2 examples of instructional strategies that you could use in your classroom to develop

each of the 6 traits of writing are listed and explained
Graphic Organizer: 3 specific ways that you will incorporate opportunities for students to write

on a daily basis—including ways that they will write to demonstrate their learning (in various

subject areas) and ways that they will write to develop writing skills. Explain each writing

opportunity within the graphic organizer.
Rubric: A rubric (about a half page but no more than a page) with at least 4 criteria and

expectations for scoring a piece of writing that students in your selected grade levels might

write

Include a title page, introduction, conclusion and reference page. Follow APA guidelines for the

title page, reference page, and all citations.
