W2 End of Week Assignment

Explain Four Systems

Note: This assignment has two parts.

How does the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, and respiratory work together in exercise?

The human body works together with many connective systems. We learn about them as individual systems but they are all interconnected. The skeletal system gives structure and form for the muscles and ligaments. The muscular system burns carbohydrates and fats. The cardiovascular system is a muscle that helps move the oxygen from the respiratory system throughout the body.

Let’s look at how these systems work together in various types of exercise.

Part 1

By now, you should have a working knowledge of the components of fitness and how the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems work. Explain how the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems all work together when you exercise. Include each of the specific steps and processes.

Cite any sources that you use.

Choose from these examples:

· Brisk walking

· Swimming

· Jumping rope

· Weeding a garden

· Mountain hiking

· Playing basketball

· Weightlifting

Which type of exercise did you choose?

Respiratory system

Part 2

Using the following websites, research the benefits of exercise on the heart and muscles. In your own words, create and explain a list of at least 10 benefits of exercise and explain the importance of these benefits to the body. (Do not include a list of exercises; focus on the benefits of exercise in general). Include the sources that you used to complete this part.
